Most of managed IT is genuinely location-independent. Patching, monitoring, Microsoft 365 administration, backup verification, and helpdesk calls do not care where the technician sits. That is why a small business in the Capital Region can get the same caliber of support a large company gets, without paying for a full-time IT department.
The rest is where national, remote-only providers fall down. Hardware fails. Internet circuits get cut. A new location needs its network built before opening day. When those things happen, being told to plug in the replacement yourself is not a support plan. We are close enough to show up instead. Albany, IT outsourcing, and choosing between providers
Most searches that bring people here are some version of the same question: which IT company should we use, and are we paying too much. The vocabulary varies (IT outsourcing, managed services, outsourced IT, help desk service, computer network support) but they describe scopes of one relationship rather than separate products.
Full IT outsourcing suits an organisation with nobody internal. Co-managed IT suits one that already has a capable person who is stretched too thin. Outsourced help desk on its own suits one that mainly needs staff questions answered by somebody who picks up. Most providers quote the largest of the three by default; we would rather work out which you need. Three questions settle it quickly: what is the minimum engagement, is pricing per user or per device, and who actually drives to your building when something physical breaks.
